The "WEISSE FLOTTE Schwerin" is situated next to the historic sites such as the "State Theater of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania" and the "State Museum Gallery of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania".
Since its initiation in 1852, charter and boat tours on the Lake Schwerin are the number-one highlight for the numerous visitors and guests in Schwerin. Meanwhile, the "WEISSE FLOTTE Schwerin" is using five different modern ships, however, the fondly maintained and restored old-timer "Elfriede" is still operated and enjoying great popularity.

160 years of boat tours in Schwerin

1852 Carl Christian Molchin sets up the first ferry lines to the island "Kaninchenwerder" and the seaside resort "Zippendorf".
1868 Catering on bord of the boat tours is offered for the first time.

1910 After years of rat-race, Carl Schroeder buys all his competitors ships and therewith is the sole provider of boat tours in Schwerin.
1950 To prevent a feared condemnation, Carl Schroeder junior renames his vessel "Schwerin" to "Sowjetfreundschaft" ("Friendship to the Soviet Union").

1953 With motor vessel "Elfriede" the "public-owned" sector of Schwerin passenger navigation is introduced.
1992 Private investors take over "Weisse Flotte Schwerin" from the trust.

2000 In March, the restaurant "Wallenstein" is completed on the castle pier of "WEISSE FLOTTE Schwerin".
